Nice park, large pool, lots of open space for people to explore and walk, many playgrounds for the kids, there is a band stand on the east side of the park near the duck pond, bring quarters so you can use the bird feeders to get food to feed the birds, and the huge fish, if you stand need the feeders everything swims at you, great opportunities for great pictures
We are on the way to NY. Kids want to stretch their legs. This park is the closest one. Very impressed with how clean the park is. The ladies in the building are so nice too.
My son loves this park. I like how open and mostly flat it is and it's contained in a decent size, but very manageable to keep track of multiple kids. We frequent this park on a regular basis.

Our guide was Lester Zook for a wilderness survival one-day course. We hiked a couple miles into the George Washington National Forest on a warm day. Lester focused on Shelter Building (including a very helpful session on knots), Fire Building ( several tips were new to me), and Navigating (basic map and compass work). Lester is so knowledgeable about wilderness survival, you can pepper him with questions and he has clever workarounds for any problems. I would have appreciated learning a little about finding and treating water, but it was a long and rewarding day without adding that. Loved the balance in our group of 12 -- half women, half men, ages 12 to 62, racially diverse, all very friendly, helpful and polite. Can't say enough about how well done this program is.
