Action Sports Complex Reviews
Former employee who has been waiting months to receive his last paycheck after being wrongfully terminated by the Gym Manager who didn't do her job. Yes, she fired me for her not doing her job. They refuse to pay me what they have owed for months. Unethical business practices. Outdated equipment and no one who works there has any idea about fitness. I was the only one working there who went to college for personal fitness and they fired me.
Buyer BEWARE they have a contract that they do not go over with you. Other then to say you have a one year. This is where they get you; after one year if you do not get membership cancelled 30 days from that date you are committed to another year. First we heard of this was trying to cancel membership. Plus facility is not in the best shape most of the year the air conditioning never worked. Equipment broken or in poor shape. No one around that can help with equipment.
For four years I had a family membership here. Kind of run down but it was nice and peaceful. About four months ago, unruly teens started to show up in the evenings on day passes. They were screaming and running around the free weight section, slamming weights and machines etc. The high school students that were employed there during the evening times, just looked at them and walked off in their phones. They were either friends with them or didn’t have the confidence to go up and ask them to leave. So, I stopped working out there but kept my membership for my daughters. Fast forward to about w month ago, my daughter starts telling me the teens working the front desk are always rude and kind of snobby. Didn’t think much of it. Today, she calls me and tells me her friend can no longer get a day pass because she is under 18 and they have changed the rules and increased the day pass rate. I get it. You have to protect your equipment and investments, but when I show up to cancel the membership, the guy ( I’m thinking the manager ) asks why. I told him and he tells me no one was rude to my daughter. First off, you aren’t there most days so you have no idea. I’ve seen the recordings on my daughters phone. It happened. He then explains that they have an issue with an unknown group of students that come in and destroy the equipment in the evenings and they can’t figure out who it. I get that as well, in most cases. There are cameras on site. Use them. Perhaps get rid of the teens working the evening desk so that they don’t feel pressured to kick out classmates etc. I’m not saying the place is garbage by any means, but if you have teenage kids that truly workout and don’t go to the gym to destroy things and show off, it may be wise to check elsewhere. I really hope the management of this facility gets things in order :(
This gym won't let us cancel after our 1 year family membership contract ends in 3 days. They say it will automatically renew forever. We went in to cancel before the new year and they informed us that we are never allowed to cancel in our lifetime except for 2 reasons: if we have a medical release or if we live 30 miles or farther away.nnWhen we signed up we were never told that this is a lifetime contract till death do us part. We have hired a lawyer because they are reporting it to the credit agencies. Our bank is also helping us. This is not only ridiculous it is criminal.nnThe facility is not well maintained. It would also be nice if they cleaned it more regularly. And I don't expect someone to be cheerful at all times but just one smile or greeting after I walk in would be nice. They just sit there with their chin cupped in their hand like they're bored with us while they inform us that we have signed our life away and may never cancel till death do us part.nnThe customer service here is unmatched, the worst of the worst!nnUPDATE 2/14/22: An employee called 3 weeks later to inform us that our membership has now been successfully canceled. He said the employee must have been mistaken. He said you have 30 days of each year to cancel otherwise you are automatically locked in for another year which you may not cancel until the next annual 30 day period. I just had a baby but I was there On Time to cancel my membership but it didn't make any difference. The employee told me IN PERSON right there at the front desk that I was never allowed to cancel. He made it VERY CLEAR. I personally believe they are going back on what they said because of this review and because I called the Better Business Bureau. The way they do business is not fair at all. The contract renewal should not be automatic and then you're trapped for another year. You should have to sign up for another year just like the first year or be allowed to cancel anytime after the auto renewal. Life happens. But this place doesn't care about its customers. They are THE WORST.
In the middle of summer and they have no air ! It’s so hot in there it gives me panic attacks! They won’t turn the air conditioning on. All of the equipment is outdated. They allow teenagers in there all hours and they leave cAndy wrappers and trash everywhere. It seems like no one that goes to this gym knows how to clean up after themselves. Also my key fab is always having issues they can’t seem to fix, makes it hard to go in the early hours when staff isn’t there yet.
