Great public park just a stones throw from Whitman center. Plenty of green space with a nice sloping hill down to a mostly sunny field. There is also plenty of shaded areas around the park as well as atop The aforementioned hill. A small pond with a center fountain is well stocked with frogs, tadpoles, and crawfish. Grab a net for the kids on the way and they will be entertained for the duration. If the thrill of marine life wears off there is a good sized playground a quick walk down one of the park's gravel pathways. Benches are abundent as well as a few picnic tables. Pack a lunch and you will have a nice afternoon with the kids, or take a break from your hectic day if you're in the area.

Great hills to take the youngest sledding. The pool is closed of course, but fun in summer. The playground is fun even in winter.
Beautiful park, any time of year. In late Fall & Winter, be on the lookout for Buzzards!
Very well maintained park, usually trash free and not very crowded. Great for families and children with a basket ball court, a couple baseball fields, children’s playground, a water pool, open area near a scenic pond and gazebo and all to be found near a police station which keeps the park free from undesired individuals. I planned my daughters birthday party there and it made for some great memories and pictures.
