Union County YMCA Reviews
The karate class is A+++ the instructors all really care about what they do and about the kids. My son was able to start right away and they took their time getting him caught up. He was able to get his uniform the first night as well. It’s been a great experience for my 10 year old. They teach discipline and respect along with the classic karate curriculum. If you’re on the fence, they offer the first class for free. Give it a shot!
They have plenty of staff. The outside workers were not friendly, did not speak to us, left us to get our own child life jackets, and after we were done the staff didn't sanitize them nor help us put them away
I paid to have my granddaughter play soccer here. We will not be returning. The coach allowed the same 4 to 5 large boys to play all the games and left 4 small girls and 1 small boy on the sidelines for every single game. She would sometimes let them play for 5 minutes then take them out, yell at them, tell them what they did wrong and put them back on the sidelines for the rest of the game. These kids paid just as much as the other kids, they showed up every practice and every game and yet we’re treated like this. When the situation was reported to management their response was we did something wrong it’s your fault for not resporting it sooner totally ignoring the fact that they have a soccer coach who should have done the right thing from the beginning, whose performance should be monitored, and who should have been properly trained in what the goal of the soccer program is. There are plenty of other athletic programs out there that understand the point and goals of including young children in sports. We shall be putting our money and efforts there rather than the Y and you should too.
My daughter is attending their summer camp program this year, she has never been to summer camp before but she loves it!! The amazing people that work here are very friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need.nI’m so glad my daughter is able to attend and get out of the house during the summer to bring her energy levels down. She comes home every day super excited to tell me about all the fun she had that day!
This is the 3rd time doing the soccer program here and up in till we've had a great experience. This time around we've ended up with a coach that likes to yank on people's children and talk to them like dogs. The YMCA seems to not feel this is a problem and have continued to not only allow this man to coach but still allow him to coach the team my child is on.
