Town Park Reviews
Open from the start of the school summer break to the Labor Day weekend, New Fairfield has a small but appealing beach on Candlewood Lake.nnThere’s a designated swimming area in the lake’s clear, gentle waters, as well as a nice patch of soft sand, restrooms, changing areas, an enlarged snack bar and a picnic area.nnResidents can purchase seasonal passes for a small fee.nnNon-residents can buy daily guest passes, although these do tend to be pricey.
Park is gorgeous. View, water, and beach are perfect; however, the rules are intense. No floats or noodles. No snorkel. No food on beach. Children in life vests must be within arms reach.
Nice little beach to escape from my suburban little life. My 2.5 year old loves it. The water is warm, the sand is soft and the rocks ARE SHARP. I'll be getting a season pass next year, as this is my first year living in New Fairfield
Beautiful place, but the staff is kind of rude. Tons of people parked in the parking lots, yet they are roped off so no one else can get in. Lots of people walking and swimming, but they wouldn’t allow us to park. Told us we can park up the street and walk down on the busy road if we wanted to. Very weird
I paid $90 for 1 1/2 of sun bathing for my wife, daughter and myself!! We were given the impression that we would be able to obtain a season pass if we took the receipt to the New Fairfield Town Hall. Only to find out that because we lived in Danbury we were guests and that was the rate for my family and myself. My daughter is a resident of New Fairfield and we were told that we would get a reimbursement. Still waiting for at least a phone call!!!
