The Train Station Reviews
Was recommended this spot from a lady at discover crystal river. We had such a great night playing and eating. Had the nachos the pizza the pork sandwich and the ice cream. All great. Awesome beer selections. Duck pin bowling is so much fun. All types of games to play all over the room. Also right next to the park so we played there too. Cannot wait to return again.
The Train Station is a little gem in downtown Inverness. It is a family friendly establishment with many options. They have tables with various games on them. Comfortable couches and chairs for sitting and talking. Outside also has rocking chairs, Adirondack chairs and hightop tables with stools. They have food and drinks like pizza, sandwiches, nachos, breakfast items humongous pretzels, wines, beers, coffee, cokes. Something for everyone.nShuffle board with sand, a library with board games. Duckpin bowling has a small fee. See photos.
We are big fans of their pizza, the Fast Track, to be exact. It is very yummy pesto pizza with goat cheese. These are great for lunch or to eat at the park. They have lots of games for entertainment when you are dining too!
We had our daughter’s first birthday here this past weekend. The restaurant is such a cool concept which is why we didn’t mind paying the steep birthday reservation price - $500 and a $50 tip for 2 hours, 10 small pizzas, 20 canned beverages, ice cream for the kids, and the duckpin bowling lanes. Our family and friends had a blast. My issue with our experience came from our interactions with the manager (not sure if she is an owner). She was upset about a few things that she said they do not “normally allow.” This included glassware on the table (mason jars with flowers for decoration) and not bringing something to put under my daughter’s highchair for her smash cake (the manager insisted I put trash bags under her highchair even though not a crumb was dropped during her cake smash because like I told the manager, my daughter wasn’t going to dig into the cake). The manager began the first 45 minutes or so of our party staring at us from behind the bar while talking with two young men who worked there. The manager had an attitude with me and it was obvious to several guests attending the birthday party. Fortunately, I didn’t have any interaction with her past the first part of the party due to my husband having a polite conversation about how we are respectable people. Most of the people attending the party are either service industry workers like myself, or law enforcement like my husband. Previous to the party, I had talked to a few workers who had mentioned a previous party or two that ruined the restaurant’s property - so just maybe the manager’s demeanor stemmed from that - but regardless, I followed the rules that were given to me by a different employee - don’t move tables, do not move their wall decor, try to not hang up a lot of decoration, don’t leave tape on the walls. If there were rules that I didn’t follow, like glassware on the high tops, it is because I was not told it wasn’t allowed by any of the people I spoke to previous to the party. Also - the restaurant didn’t offer napkins, cutlery or plates for anyone planning on hosting an event here. We did bring some for our dessert table so it wasn’t a problem for us.nnI would like to add that the women working the ice cream parlor were absolutely lovely, and that one of the two young men helping our party was great. He was polite and didn’t hesitate if we needed anything.nnI will still be back for ice cream with my daughter and family. It isn’t that the place isn’t nice and unique, I just wouldn’t have another party there.
We wandered around the lakeside parks for a while, then stopped at The Train Station to get a beverage for me and an ice cream for my wingman. The ice cream is soft serve.n↪️ $6 for a bottle of Bud Light seems pretty steep to me. 😬
