Excellent adventure, rappelling was great. Had lots if time explore around at resting points. Absolutely beautiful. You will be hiking through the river, we got wet head to toe, recommend shoes and clothing you are willing to swim with.
I don’t go on many tours, I like to venture on my own… this place and tour was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The guides are so knowledgeable, so friendly and just an overall great time. If you don’t book this for your Puerto Rico trip, you are making a mistake. A+++++++ 100/10 thank you Tanama River Adventures! It was an unforgettable experience.
This was an amazing experience! Fernando and Mariel were both knowledgeable and overall excellent guides. Being inside the cave and swimming in the beautiful, clear Tanama River were two highlights, but the tour is full of awesome sights. You will hike through very slippery terrain but just follow the instructions on the website for what gear to have and you will be fine.
We did a river tour, including a hike to the river, visiting two caverns, a hike up the river, down the river, and then back up the river to the trail. Our guide Mariel was excellent, she was very knowledgeable about the plants, wildlife, and geologic history of the river and surrounding forest. The trails were a bit slippery and steep, so bring a good pair of shoes that you can hike and swim in. You are going to get wet, if you want to bring a camera makes sure to bring a dry bag you can pack in with. All in, our tour was about 3 hours with a good hour of downtime swimming and exploring the river. We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves.
Amazing trip through the Tanama River! Our group of 8 had an awesome time with our guide Mariel. Google maps brought us right to the pick up/drop off location and after a few minutes checking in we were off on our journey. We were taken to caves, and learned all about the geology and animal life that makes them unique. After a few minutes hiking the beautiful mountain side we arrived to the river and enjoyed a relaxing swim. We were taken deep into another cave and saw hundreds of bats and experienced total darkness and silence as we shed our headlamps. Make sure you have good water shoes! If your looking for a physical and fun activity to do outside of old San Juan, definitely check out a tour with Tanama River Adventures!
