South Sumter Park

I had a wonderful time at the festival! It was my first time going. There were a lot of vendors selling clothes, hats, tees, purses, an outreach church, and T-Mobile. Food vendors sold fried fish, ribs, hot dogs, friesI,, funnel cakes, drinks, etc.nnI stopped an officer and inquired why there was so much police presence. He informed me to keep things from going badly every year they make sure that their presence is observed.nnThere was also persons from the City of Sumter driving golf carts. Everyone was friendly though. One thing I don't understand though, if you want to keep things in a family manner, don't have a vendor that serves mixed alcohol drinks???

I went here for a back to school supplies give away. It was not a good experience. . The heat index was 105. The pastor which was our host. Had us outside with no shelter from the 🌞. I get the history of the baseball field. Pastor chose for the children to play baseball and jump rope. It was stated if you didn't participate that you would not get back to school supplies. The kids got their food still no backpack. Oh I forgot it was like 3-4 people blessed the food. I've never seen such things. Just dragging things out in the heat. I saw this advertise on the news. None of the activities where mentioned. No one said bring chairs and umbrella. Then before they got their backpacks it was the entire seating area must be cleaned before we can proceed. A man of God made us do a lot for a free backpack.. At least in the free cheese line you could sit and knew what to expect. For some reason afterwards it felt more like a cult or a warden. I definitely won't be attending his church. He is too long winded. It's almost football season and church be going on I'll be ready to watch football. And by the way the kids had no clue playing baseball. No I will not sign my kids up for this organization. We're there for 2 hours before we got backpacks. 🚻 Where nasty and not stock. No hand soap in the mist of COVID.

The Stop the Violence Movement had our first Easter Egg Hunt there today. It was a success! Beautiful day, beautiful people with approximately 100 kids in attendance. So much fun, laughter and excitement!

Splash pad, playground, basketball court, baseball field, gymnasium, and dead beat young adults hanging around.

It was a beautiful place and thee celebration for the Veterans was Heart warn ng to see a Community and the Vendors they represented.We represented Ragin Barber Institute and gave the Veterans free Hair Cuts.
