It's a great county park with plenty of things to do year-round. The track is a great place to get some miles in while being close to bathrooms. The trails are fantastic escape. Buffalo Hills is a great place for hill repeats. The wave pools is good. Cascades are fantastic to visit.

South Park is my must visit spot when I visit Pittsburgh, it is family friendly, you can do a lot of things there, the amenities are great. The place is huge so everyone can find a spot they want to spend time at. The cascade area was beautiful. We saw deers, talked to people and had a good peaceful relaxing time.
A fun, clean, cheap place to spend a summer afternoon! Plenty of lifeguards and lots of grass and turf to spread out on. They rent tubes and have concessions as well. The bathrooms are large and well maintained, with changing areas and showers. There are also a few pavilions for picnics and parties.

Great place for some local history or a scenic walk. The handmade waterfalls are very nice for photos.
Great 2,000+ acre park in Allegheny County! Amazing things to do and see here, definitely a little drive from the city but absolutely worth it!
