Rockville Centre Recreation Center Reviews
The outdoor pickleball courts are in deplorable condition (as of 11/23), with multiple deep cracks in the pavement and chipped paint. The pickleball instructor who holds lessons on these courts lacks professionalism. He showed up late for the session and had to use up class time setting up the net. He overbooked the class and that meant attendees had to sit on the sidelines and rotate in. He did not bring enough balls, causing delays in teaching and playing. The class was all adults and one high school student, but he pandered to the student and said they did not have to play by accepted pickleball rules “because they were a kid.” This was a very disappointing experience with the both the rec center’s courts and the person it has an arrangement with to teach pickleball on its courts.
Happy National Pickleball day! I had the pleasure of doing a Rockvill Centre, Chamber of Commerce, ribbon-cutting with Frank Milillo of the Long Island Pickleball Pros. Located on the second floor of the Rockville Centre rec center, Frank makes Pickleball beyond fun! His passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the game is contagious. I hope everybody gets a chance to experience aying Pickleball with Frank!
Nice local option for winter and summer. Great variety and nicely constructed and laid out. Spacious.
Great place for families to find different activities. Long love Mr.B ❤️
This park is awesome! Its completely gated in. Everyone is so great with keeping the gate closed. It has something for every age even crawlers! The baby and toddler section is fantastic with tons of low to the ground entertainment as well as smaller slides. The rubber ground is so much better than rubber tiles which can collect debris. But it can get very hot in the summer, so be careful if you have a crawler. Tons of baby swings! And a splash pad! Great for hot days! Plenty of parking. Inside there are fish and a small play area in the large lobby. They have programs here but we've never attended them. We do stop in to check out the fish and sometimes birds.
