Redwood Park Reviews
Turned off slide because life guard (Christy) stated to another customer that because I had to go into the section where you come down off the slide to get my nephew who was going under unable to get himself to the rope to me so she walked over not trying to get him so I did, and immediately I got back across the rope out of the way but because of that she turned slide off and NO ONE THE REST OF THE DAY WAS ABLE TO SLIDE WHICH I FELT WAS VERY VERY VERY UNFAIR!!!!! NO WARNING WAS GIVEN JUST CUT OFF AND NO EXPLANATION EXCEPT I HEARD THIS FROM ANOTHER PERSON AT THE POOL THAT ASK WHY!!! I THINK IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE PATIENCE TO DO HER JOB OR SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DO HER JOB THAT DAY BECAUSE SHE WENT AND SIT IN THE SNACK BAR AREA SHE NEEDED TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO WORK DOING BECAUSE WHEN PEOPLE PAY TO COME THERE THAT'S ONE OF THE PERKS AND DIVING BOARD.
The walking trail is nice but the park area and bathroom could use some upkeep and updating. They added one accessible swing but it is off by itself so it feels like you are still not part of the park when you use it. They used plenty of money to make the gym area but completely forgot the outside park area. Over all it is an ok place for kids but it is sad when a 7 year old says she feels too old for most of the stuff.
It's only $5 per person to get in and swim all day. Can't bring your own cooler in with food and drinks, I heard from a friend. They don't really have many options of snacks and beverages but what they do have pieces of candy and Iceys and drinks for reasonable prices. When I went at the end of June there slide was shut down for some reason but they had a diving board. It wasn't too crowded and it's a pretty good sized pool with different spots with different depths.
I don't understand why they do not have public restrooms available when rec.building is closed.nI know some people are nasty but not all. You have people walking and playing but no where to go. Children and adults need restrooms. If can't fix at least rent a portable toilet.
I brought my 3boys and my nephew here only because it's 15 dollars a person to get in at koolpark. Which is outrageous to me, but I am so glad we decided to go to Redwood instead because we had an amazing time there! The best thing, is that it's ONLY 5 BUCKS A PERSON!!! Also they are more equipped to entertain toddlers, with the very shallow entrance and 3 fountain/sprinklers. The water slides are better than the one at koolpark as well. Needless to say, our family had a great time.
