Popcorn Park Animal Refuge

Knowing that rescued animals have a refuge and in turn, contribute to the enjoyment and education of both children and adults is wonderful. We didn’t see any turtle, probably because they’re relocated due to the cold temperatures in this fall season. Similarly, the monkeys were hiding inside their shelters, so we didn’t see any. Nevertheless, the most memorable moment was the majestic roar of the lion. Despite my daughter's efforts to capture a video, she unfortunately missed the opportunity. The peacock's stunning display of its feathers was truly enchanting.nParking is free. We paid our entrance fee on site because I couldn’t find a place to pay on their website/online. Food and drinks are not allowed. Cold drinks are sold inside. No cafe or food stall. So it’s better to eat and drink prior to going in. It takes less than 2 hours to walk around. There’s a small gift shop. The staff is pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our visit here.

A local family friend recommended a stop here with our 3 year old. We're so glad that we stopped by. The zoo is the perfect size for a 3 year old to explore (not too big and not too small) and had lots of animals for her to see up close. Her favorites were Seven the horse and the new lions.nnWe will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Nice place with lots animals. My 23 year old niece and 11 year old son loved the place minus the sand on the ground. Don’t wear your best sneakers.nHeads up, you can meet the pets without making an appointment. They only give a photo album to browse. I don’t think that looking at photos will get these dogs and cats new homes quickly.

Great place and a wonderful service for the animals who need to be rescued. When we got there, we were informed that they no longer allow feeding the animals anything and they no longer provide popcorn and peanuts. That was a bit of a disappointment for us, but we still had a nice time!

Clean park, good amount of different animals and birds to see. Names and background of how all the animals were acquired, also facts located at each enclosure to learn about the species. Just wish they would tell you ahead of time they're not selling popcorn to feed the animals due to Avian flu
