Norman J. Levy Park & Preserve

Very nice little park, good for a runs/jogs or just walks. Not too big, but very nice, clean and well taken care of. Cute goats! Definitely going to come back.nWhen you drive up to the park it’s gonna look like you as some construction zone, don’t worry, just keep driving and follow the signs!

One of the best parks designed on top of the landfill that feels quite natural with beautiful views of the bay, pond and trails at the top of the hill. Special treat is the view from the pier into Merrick Bay. Parking could be challenging on weekends, best to come early.

Love this park for a family or outdoor walk. On a good day the dwarf goats come out of their pen to enjoy the grass. At the top of the trail there are two ponds with ducks and turtles to view. A lovely view of NY and Long Island at the top of the trail. Along the way you might see some wildlife. We have seen bunnies and fox before. And there’s a path to the water where people could fish. The last time we visited a family caught a little baby shark.

I love this preserve and park. It’s a great place to go for a walk or a short or long hike. They have a bunch of different trails and options for long or short walks and they even have animals at the preserve such as goats and rescued sheep. This place is lovely and if you get here at the right time you can walk the trails with the goats! They even have a fishing area and a beautiful brand new dock and if you walk to the top of the preserve you can see a little pond and a nice skyline view of lots of locations. I highly recommend this place. Only thing I will say is - watch out for ticks! Make sure you wear tick spray and check yourself! Their is lots of awesome wildlife here you can see and it’s very relaxing, definitely a nice nature place to go outdoors
