As mentioned in previous reviews, Milton Rock Gym (MRG), offers a wide variety of climbing to accommodate climbers of most skill levels. For starters, MRG has some of the cheapest prices around & homes a small family of climbers with decades of accumulative experience. This small, but warm & welcoming, family embraces all that come through that vintage door with open arms & share their raw knowledge without hesitation. For example, when I met Jack (The gym owner), I asked how long he had been climbing for & what tips he would offer to a beginning climber. He said he has been climbing for 28+ years & shared his decades of experience in a few small pieces of advice. This alone made a dramatic, but beneficial impact on my performance. Furthermore, I was stuck on a V2 boulder problem. He stood back & watched me fail the same route over & over again. He gently asked if I was open to advice & I agreed. He climbed to the point of the route I was struggling with & showed me how to shift my body & change my momentum. I had struggled with this V2 for 3 weeks up to this point. After seeing & hearing Jack's advice, I was able to complete that route. It's an experience I will forever be grateful for and cherish.nnAs you walk through a vintage door on the backside of the building, you're welcomed by a bright smile from Melissa & checked in. She will answer all questions to the best of her abilities & knowledge at any point during a climbing session. Once you're set to climb, you'll most likely be surrounded by other climbers with a vast amount of experience. You may hesitate to ask others' questions, but try your best to suppress the anxiety! Everyone who comes through that vintage door is extremely welcoming, happy to chat, answer questions, & offer suggestions on gear, or even just make a connection. You may even find yourself surrounded by other MRG members cheering you on as you grab that next hold or complete that next difficult move. You'll wonder when all of these people start watching you, but you'll feel invigorated by the support being given to you.nnBottom line, this is a great gym to have fun at or begin an epic journey as a climber. The product/service to cost ratio is extremely rare in today's economic climate. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly. They offer a multitude of membership options, gear & rentals, lessons, and group events.nnSidenote: A friend and I read the reviews before coming to MRG. One review mentioned the gym was geared towards children. In my opinion, that's not an accurate representation of MRG & that became very clear and apparent after spending many hours there. Yes, there is many options geared towards children, but MRG has managed to efficaciously include climbers of all size & skill levels with their structures.
