Jefferson Recreation Department

Recently.went to the park and had a vet wonderful time on the playground and picnicking. They've recently added equipment for younger children which is great for my almost 3 year old!

I was visiting this place to support a softball team. #BigBend50nI used to live in Jefferson county but I haven't been to this place in about 12 years... Back then it was just a large track with a playground.nnBoy was I shocked when I went today and saw that they have reduced the track and made about four or five softball fields! They had even put up a concession stand! I still could see people walking around the track but I don't think it was as big as it used to be I'm not sure on that part.nnBut I do know that the feeling I had when I arrived was the same. Everyone there was so friendly warm and welcoming.. the weather was perfect for the game.nnI really enjoyed revisiting this old stomping ground of mine.. it was very refreshing to know that they have done some upgrading.nnAnd the little kids park that they have hold so many memories of me and my children swinging on the swings all day laughing running around and playing... This is a great spot to go if you have children or if you want to enjoy some of the softball games or other games that they have going on.nnThey even have a basketball court. And I believe they have two different locations with bathrooms.nnIf you are looking for a place to take your family and barbecue something on the grill this spot is the place to go... You can barbecue on the grill and watch your kids play on the playground at the same time 🥰nnI will definitely be back with my kids next time so we can reminisce about all the fun times we used to share at this special place ❤️ if you haven't been here in a while this place is definitely worth checking out.

Welcome to another Gem located in Monticello, a Wonderful Family Park. Senior Friendly, Mobility Friendly, Pet Friendly and Easily Accessible. A secret Birders and Wildlife Paradise. Paved Trails, many Beautiful Picnic Areas, Fenced in Dog Play Area, Sports Areas, Safe Play Ground Equipment for Children, and lastly but not least Exercise Equipment to assist in a Healthy Heart and Body, Spirit and Mind.

This is Jefferson County's park basically.nThere is a baseball, soccer, and multiple other fields. They also have a playground and tennis courts. The walk path goes all the way around the park and they have exercise stations set up as you go along. I did notice to the left past the fence there were people riding golf carts, so obviously there is a golf course there.nThey do have picnic tables and bathrooms set up outside. It wasn't that crowded, but then again there were no sport events going on.

Staff takes good care of property.... love the walking course
