FunVille Playground and Cafe – Chesapeake, VA Reviews
This was my second visit to this facility. They have a toddler area, and 2 areas where the older kids can play. While your kids are playing, you can sit and watch them, or even join them if you would like. I didn’t have any of the food because of health reasons, but my kids enjoyed the pizza. It was SUPER cheesy. You can also play games and get prizes after you earn tickets (that load on the card) from playing those games. Overall, it’s a nice place to bring your kids. Staff was also professional and nice!
I had my grandsons 1st birthday party at FunVille on 12/10. I reserved a room for 13 kids, 3 pitchers of drinks & 5 pizzas. The room from 430-630. They were supposed to supply all the plates n stuff for all the kids. However they only supplied half the plates. When they brought the 1st pizza out about 515. They informed me that they ran out of dough so they could only give us 2 of the 3 pizzas. They didn’t bring the last 2 pizzas out until about 530. When they brought those out they told us we had an hr left in the room. So we had to rush eating. Then when it was time to cut the cake. I had to find the hostess to get the candle they provided and a knife. I had to serve the pizza and cake. In which we were informed That the hostess would do all of this but she was never around. Her attitude was horrible. I asked to speak to management and never got to. I paid about $430 for all of this. In which I feel because of the customer service that was received was not worth it. I will not be going back nor recommending the Chesapeake location. I have heard the VA beach is 10 times better.
Called to book my party about 2 months ago when a man over the phone told me he would reserve out date for the party and that I could just come in and pay. I came in to find out that wasn’t the case. So the day I went in, I paid for my party and then was able to save a date for our party. I let them know I was expecting about 15-20 kids . I was told that wasn’t a problem as I would just pay for the additional kids and also that I signed up on time to get tokens for our party.nCome the day of my party, my guests were not being allowed in after the 10 th guest even though I provided the staff of a finial guest list which was over 10 people. I went to ask the staff why they weren’t letting anymore of our guests in and she said because I didn’t tell her I was expecting more then 10 people as she was holding on to my guest list that was clearly numbered. With attitude , she said I should have let her know like I am supposed to know who she is. Her two coworkers (1 was our party host and the other was the women who took our reservation who both knew my count was over 10) stood behind her the entire time and said nothing. The party host then didn’t trust my final count as I showed her on my list who was all there. She physically asked each child as they ate pizza for their name and made her own list that way.nnWhen I asked for the tokens , I was told it was only for the parties before October even though we signed up before October, we wouldn’t be able to get any. The lack of communication was just very uncomfortable as I felt I needed to be confrontational to have a decent party. This was definitely our last party there.
The play area is great including the toddler play. They have 3 separate areas for birthday parties that take place the same time as open play. Food shuts off ordering if they're slammed and then you wait 25-30 minutes and it'll open back up again. The climbing area was closed as they didn't have proper staffing. The arcade is an ABSOLUTE joke - grab claw machines for others had items and just let them go before even moving. We are not from this area but traveling for the weekend and probably the worst arcade games I've ever seen. Make sure to sign the waiver off to the left and then go up to pay. Also, make sure to have socks for everyone in your party. A great spot to meet with a friend if local and let the kids run it out. A great stop if you're traveling and you also need to get the kids moving before another leg of the trip.
Best $$ spent as of yet! If you can, get the yearly membership. It’s so worth it. This is our new go to! Can’t beat it.
