Chester State Park Reviews
A true hidden gem! I love this park. It's beautiful and well maintained. Very clean with many sheltered benches/tables and swings. A 2 mile walking path around the lake. Very peaceful with low noise due to the fact only electric motor boats allowed. The Ranger and his staff are very friendly and hospitable.
You will find beauty and peace in this state park. The walking trail is easy. No steep climbs. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. They also provide shelters and grills. Go and enjoy the day at the park.
Haven't been to this park in many years. It really is a quite beautiful area around the lake. The shelters and chairs look like theyve just recently been added/updated, and the trail across the bridge was perfect to take the kids on a short hike. Didn't have time to check out the disc golf course but it looks like another fun activity to enjoy during a visit. Will definitely come back with the canoe or some kayaks and paddle around a bit.
Great state park close to us. Small lake with kayak, canoe, and John boat rentals. Great boat and canoe launching ramp. Tons of beautiful day-use shelters and space with lots of waterfront space, as well as lots of camp sites (mostly RV friendly though). I do wish there were more tent-only sites somewhere on the park, even a boat-in section on the other side of the lake. Good disc golf course, and on and on. Started off by saying great state park by us, but probably one of the best in the state.
We decided to take a day trip with our dog and spent the day at Chester SP. It was a very nice little park to go visit and we had a great day.
