Shippensburg Station Reviews
This Trail is fantastic. It’s clean, wide, well kept, dry, nice and flat no bumps, open and bright. One of the best trails we’ve ever ridden. Try it out for yourself.
I love this trail with all the art. It makes walks so much better when there is things to look for and do on your way through the trail. Majority was recycled art which is really cool to show kids that everything is usable and not waste things.
Sole surviving example of a B&O W-2A hopper car is located here to the immediate south of the Shippensburg University Engineering Laboratory alongside the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail.
Props to all of those people in who have diligently worked to make Shippensburg Station one of the newer attractions in Shippensburg. This is a great place to start your Cumberland Valley Rail Trail hike, walk, or ride. There is plenty of parking, clean bathroom facilities, a two great little railroad museums inside train cars, and other historic train cars to view. On top of all of that you will find sculptures from students at nearby Shippensburg University along the first portion of this trail. Stop by on the first Friday of the month for food trucks and good community fun.
We pedaled end to end on the bike trail...cannot wait for extensions to Chambersburg and Carlisle to be finished...
