Waste of time and money. Spent $38 to get yelled at by the lifeguards when I was catching my breath on the dock. They said we weren't allowed there without a lifeguard. There were 4 lifeguards sitting on their chairs. I was angered by the fact that this is the only public freshwater in town, and now apparently we are not allowed to swim even after the high entrance fee, limited open hours, and ample supervision. It is unclear if the rule was to stay inside the 4ft water height buoy, but it was very clear that not one soul was swimming there. Essentially this is a wading pond for kids.
Nice place for a picnic and a swim. The event I attended had the boys night out band playing very popular songs from the 60,s through 80,s.
The water was cold, but I was used to it after standing in it for a while. The food options were ok. The pretzel was microwaved and still frozen in some places. The hot dog was decent
It's a very nice PUBLIC park. I drove there 30 mins with my 3 sons and we were excited to do some slides and run around while my wife was in the hospital nearby. However we were asked to leave by some young camp counselors who told us they had rented the whole park. There was no signs out front and the gate of the park was wide open. My boys were pretty upset about it and looking back I could've made a stink but we moved along. Nice park, but avoid the camp counselors at all costs lol
