Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA Holiday Reviews
This is one of my favorite campgrounds! It is always a good time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are cleaned regularly. Most of the campers that go here are also friendly. If you have little kids they have plenty for them to do to stay busy.
We were in K105 the second year in a row. The bathroom faucet only had hot water, no cold. There were lights out. The mattress needs replaced.nThe only short cut to get to the cabin is behind the registration building and down a hill. It’s dangerous for seniors to navigate that hill. Steps would really help.nThere was no heat or maybe we just couldn’t find it. The activities for my grandchildren were great except the hayride which was free so I guess we shouldn’t complain.nA big disappointment is by Friday all cabins were booked for next year!nAt the end of our stay last year 10/2022 we were able to book several cabins for this year 2023. When we asked about that the staff said we were just lucky so this year we were not able to book. When I asked staff when we should start calling to try to hope for cancellations she had no answer.
I rented a tent site for 1 night and was able to check-in before 1pm. This was my 1st camping trip and the staff was friendly and helpful. I visited all the amenities and spent time in the game room. Some activities were unavailable or closed during my mid-week stay (movie theater, pillow jump). The comfort station was clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand soap. I also enjoyed the pancakes.
Very nice campground. Hope to return in the future. Wonderful view of the mountains. We had site #30. Some sites are a little tight but we had enough room to enjoy our stay. Pool was large and clean. Very close to the Harpers Ferry attractions. Camp store was very nice and all the people that work there were extremely nice too. The Wifi here was fantastic which is rare for most campgrounds. This KOA is worth the visit.
We have a 30 foot tow behind camper and our site was not level enough to even put the bottom step down. We had to climb over the bottom step for four days we noticed a lot of the sites were not very level unless you pay $130 a night for a premium site, we left on a Monday and my husband went down to get coffee at the espresso place and it was closed so he went into the store and there wasn’t any made it was still brewing and this was at 8:30 in the morning so we had no coffee. We had a large bag of garbage in the dumpster was heaping full, and could not even get the lid closed and others just left. Things lay all around the outside, which is what we had to do , I think garbage should be picked up before letting it get so filled up. It looked really bad. Dog park was nice but a lot of people let their dog mess lay and we stepped in it.nOverall, the KOA was very nice and the pool was very nice. I would definitely go back, but I would be a little more picky and choosy about the site so it’s level and we can use our equipment properly.
